Sabudana (Tapioca Pearls) Khichdi

Hello everyone,

Here is another recipe for you on Navratri - Sabudana Khichdi. It is one of the most widely made dish and popular amongst masses in India.
This is the perfect dish to be consumed during the fast/vrat time. 

Here's the recipe:

Sabudana (Tapioca Pearls) Khichdi 

Yummy Sabudana Khichdi

Prep Time: 4 Hours
Cook Time: 15 Minutes
Total Time: 4 Hours 30 Minutes
Yield: 4 Serving

  • 2 Cups - Tapioca Pearls / Sabudana
  • 1 Tsp -  Cumin Seeds
  • 3-4 Tsp - Green Chillies chopped
  • 1 Large -  Boiled Potato (cut into small cubes)
  • 2-3 Tbsp - Roasted Peanut
  • 1 Tsp - Rock Salt / Common Salt or as per taste
  • 1/2 Tsp - Black Pepper
  • 1/2 Tsp - Sugar
  • Juice of 1/2 Lemon (optional )

  • Firstly, wash and soak the sabudana or Tapioca Pearl for half hour. Then drain the water and leave for 4 to 5 hours or preferably overnight
  • Take oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, green chilies. Now, add boiled potato. Fry for a while.
  • Add roasted crushed peanuts. Finally add sabudana mixed with salt, black pepper, and sugar. Mix it very well.
  • Lastly, add lemon juice (optional)
  • Now cover it with lid and leave it on simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Serve hot with Fariyali mixture.
